He places the incision skillfully behind the hairline so that it is not visible later. Especially in male patients, the experienced surgeon carefully plans the incision so that the scars remain as inconspicuous as possible in case of possible future hair loss. The forehead skin is released up to the eyebrows, the eyebrows are lifted, the tissue is tightened and fixed in the new position. The wrinkle-causing forehead muscles that extend into the skin are thus separated from the skin. Dr. Jethon removes the excess skin and then closes the suture using a special technique. The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia without general anesthesia; patients are often fit for everyday life after about a week but should avoid physically strenuous activities for a few weeks.
