When training and diet are no longer enough – surgical solutions for a harmonious silhouette
Even the most perfect body silhouette can lose shape and contour over the course of life: normal aging processes cause the subcutaneous tissue to sag, so-called stretch marks (striae) do not disappear, and unsightly scars after a cesarean section or appendectomy as well as major weight loss leave more noticeable traces on the abdomen than a woman or man would like, which unfortunately cannot be eliminated by intensive abdominal exercises or strict dieting.
A sagging abdomen can affect the waist silhouette and make wearing form-fitting clothes or minimal bikinis appear aesthetically challenging. The experienced surgical hands of Dr. Christoph Jethon offer women in the PraxisClinic Jadore the opportunity through a surgical abdominoplasty to realize their desire for a newly contoured, firm abdomen and a slim waist. In line with their individual wishes, Dr. Jethon removes excess fatty tissue and skin to remodel the body and create a harmonious body image, so that wearing figure-hugging clothing can again bring joy and boost new self-confidence.
Dr. Jethon at PraxisClinic Jadore: Your experienced partner for surgical abdominoplasty
If you decide on an abdominoplasty, Dr. Christoph Jethon, head of PraxisClinic Jadore, is the physician you can trust and your partner. Dr. Jethon accompanies you competently from the first preparatory step through the operation he performs personally to your desired goal: an aesthetically pleasing, newly contoured abdomen and a defined waist. For this he applies his many years of experience as an abdominoplasty specialist and his aesthetic sense for harmonious proportions – for a result that will delight you.
As a specialist in abdominoplasty, Dr. Jethon will explain in a detailed, confidential consultation the options that lead to your individual goal: Is a small abdominoplasty sufficient, or is a full abdominoplasty required? In this context the navel forms the proverbial center and the key to the correct surgical concept. If necessary, it can be relocated, not to achieve more than a satisfactory result, but to complete the harmony of a body. Within this framework, Dr. Jethon will also carefully consider the individual incision placement at the pubic hairline in dialogue with you so that the scars resulting from the surgery can later be well concealed by a brief slip or bikini and thus remain invisible to onlookers.
Surgical methods for successful abdominoplasty
For a successful abdominoplasty, the required procedure is always determined by the individual anatomy. Over time, important supporting structures in the subcutaneous tissue can be torn, making unsightly streaks or scars, the so-called stretch marks, visible. As a result, the previously firm silhouette of the abdomen and waist can become unbalanced. In some cases, sport or diet may not be sufficient to regain the desired body shape.
The method Dr. Christoph Jethon applies for abdominoplasty keeps the number and size of incisions as small as possible. Excess tissue and skin are removed in a transverse area and – if advisable – the abdominal muscles are tightened. The result is a smooth abdomen and an emphasized waistline – both make the body appear slimmer and more attractive overall. To further improve the positive appearance in individual cases, Dr. Jethon performs liposuction in addition to the abdominoplasty to bring the body silhouette into absolute top form. In operative abdominal tightening, Dr. Christoph Jethon uses the following two methods:
Mini abdominoplasty
If the excess skin is mainly located in the lower abdominal area, the smaller procedure of a mini abdominoplasty is usually sufficient. In this procedure, the lax skin in the lower abdomen, i.e. below the navel, is tightened by Dr. Christoph Jethon and excess skin flaps are removed. Repositioning of the navel is not necessary.
Complete abdominoplasty
In a full abdominoplasty, the entire lower and middle abdomen is tightened. Through an incision above the pubic area, excess fatty tissue and skin are removed and the abdominal muscles are tightened. In the course of the surgery Dr. Christoph Jethon also repositions the navel by detaching it from the surrounding tissue and placing it anew so that it occupies a natural-looking position.
Risks and side effects of abdominoplasty
The incisions required for surgical abdominoplasty usually cause mild pain and increased sensitivity of the abdomen and the navel, which can be intensified by upper body movement. However, these symptoms subside after a few days. Bruising and swelling of the tissue as well as numbness can also occur, but these are harmless and will also disappear.
The scars resulting from the surgery remain visible for some time but will continue to regress over time. Dr. Christoph Jethon places great importance on making the required incisions as inconspicuous as possible and ensuring they are covered when wearing underwear or a bikini.
It should be pointed out that surgical abdominoplasty is not a means to lose excess weight. The best results are achieved in healthy and basically slim patients whose weak abdominal tissue cannot be strengthened by sport or diet.

The realization of your wish for a slim, firmer-looking abdomen at PraxisClinic Jadore takes place together with you and Dr. Christoph Jethon in a few steps that bring about a successful abdominoplasty through surgery.
Your personal preliminary consultation for an abdominoplasty with Dr. Christoph Jethon
If you are planning a surgical abdominoplasty at PraxisClinic Jadore, Dr. Christoph Jethon will first conduct a detailed consultation with you. He takes time to learn about your personal wishes and ideas of your ideal figure; he will explain whether and how these can be achieved. Dr. Christoph Jethon will then outline the ideal path to the result you desire and discuss the resulting costs with you. A medical history will clarify all potential risks of this procedure that could arise from your medical background. This also takes into account possible allergies to medications or care substances, as well as the anesthesia. Dr. Christoph Jethon will also advise you on what else you can do to prepare optimally for the procedure.
How to best prepare for surgical abdominoplasty
To support the healing process after the surgical abdominoplasty, you can already contribute a lot beforehand. It is best to follow the following recommendations about 2 weeks in advance:
Nutrition and weight loss
The human abdomen has a layer of fatty tissue. Its composition is partly genetically determined but also dependent on your dietary habits. If you plan to diet as part of preparing for an abdominoplasty in order to lose weight, you should complete this beforehand so that Dr. Christoph Jethon can plan the scope of the procedure more precisely and you will be satisfied with the long-term result of your abdominoplasty.
Medication intake
Approximately 2 weeks before the planned surgery date for your abdominoplasty, you should stop taking all medications that increase bleeding tendency, including aspirin or any products containing acetylsalicylic acid. Dr. Christoph Jethon also advises stopping all sleeping pills during this period. This, of course, does not apply to medically necessary medications prescribed by your doctor; please inform Dr. Jethon about them.
Smoking and alcohol
Regular smoking not only increases the risk of circulatory disorders but also delays wound healing; therefore tobacco use can impair the healing process after surgery, as can alcohol consumption. Both should be given up or significantly reduced at least 2 weeks before the operation.
Further examinations
In individual cases, an ultrasound examination may be performed before the operation.
Checklist for preparation:
- If applicable, prior diet for weight loss
- Healing of any sore areas in the abdominal region
- Avoid sleeping pills and all medications with blood-thinning effects
- Stop or reduce tobacco and alcohol consumption
- If applicable, ultrasound examination
How is the abdominoplasty operation performed?
Before the operation, Dr. Christoph Jethon marks the exact incision lines on your abdomen while you are standing; this allows him to best plan the outcome of the procedure. Ideally you also wear your bikini so that Dr. Jethon can mark the course of the incision on the skin so that the scar resulting from the abdominoplasty is later concealed by it.
You will then receive general anesthesia. The duration of the operation is between 2 and 3 hours depending on the extent of the measures discussed with you.
Dr. Christoph Jethon performs this procedure himself; with his many years of experience in the field of abdominoplasty he makes the necessary incisions as inconspicuous as possible. He removes excess fatty tissue and skin and, if necessary, tightens the abdominal muscles. Depending on the extent of the procedure, Dr. Jethon may also reposition the navel to remodel the abdominal area and give it a natural appearance. The incisions are sutured so that the surgical scars are as inconspicuous as possible after the completed healing process. Finally you receive an abdominal support or compression garment to relieve and protect the abdominal area and the scars as much as possible. For all abdominoplasty operations Dr. Christoph Jethon recommends a 1 – 2 day hospital stay.
Checklist for abdominoplasty or mini abdominoplasty
- General anesthesia
- Duration of surgery: between 2 – 3 hours
- 1 – 2 day hospital stay
What should I pay attention to after the operation?
The incisions required during the operation and the possible repositioning of the navel can cause pain in the abdominal area in the following days. Swelling and bruising may also occur as side effects; however, these are not problematic and subside after a few days. The navel may feel temporarily numb or swollen; both symptoms also disappear again after some time.
When sleeping, avoid a prone position to minimize strain on the abdomen; a slightly elevated supine position is best. In the next 8 weeks you should avoid any sporting activities, as well as other physical exertion; also avoid large arm movements, coughing and straining on the toilet during bowel movements as much as possible. Sauna visits are also not recommended so as not to impair the healing process of the scars and tissue. Ideally, you should also not go to work for the next 2 weeks to reduce unnecessary movement.
Checklist for the immediate time after the abdominal operation:
- When sleeping, assume an abdomen-sparing supine position
- Avoid sports, physical exertion and large arm movements for about 8 weeks
- No sauna visits
- Avoid coughing
- Do not press on the abdomen when on the toilet
- Pause all professional activities for at least 2 weeks
Healing process of the abdominoplasty and aftercare
A few days after the procedure the dressing will be changed. You will receive another abdominal support or compression garment that supports and relieves the abdominal muscles.
After about 1 week you are socially presentable again. Approximately 2 – 3 weeks after the operation Dr. Christoph Jethon will remove the stitches. You should continue to avoid physical exertion of any kind. The scars resulting from the operation will continue to regress and fade over time.
Checklist for aftercare:
- Wear compression garments or abdominal support for 4 – 6 weeks to support the abdominal wall
- Removal of stitches after 14 – 21 days
- Socially presentable after 7 days
- About 8 weeks no sports and no heavy lifting
Abdominoplasty for men
Abdominoplasty is also a solution for men to permanently remove excess fatty tissue. Dr. Christoph Jethon therefore also offers surgical tightening of the abdominal wall for men – further information can be found here.
Supplementary liposuction
In some cases the result of the abdominoplasty can be supplemented by a liposuction to further optimize the body silhouette.
How much does an abdominoplasty cost?
