Liposuction – when diet and exercise alone are no longer enough
Many affected people find it disheartening when, despite a balanced diet, regular exercise and dedicated training, no visible results are achieved and the corresponding fat deposits remain. Terms like “saddle bags”, “love handles”, “muffin top”, “spare tire” or “love handles” may sound humorous, but they illustrate how much these pads can impair personal well-being and the desired image of a well-proportioned figure.
Fortunately, thanks to today’s mature methods of plastic surgery, there is a solution that can help most people get closer to their desired figure: liposuction (liposuction) using the tumescent technique with Dr. Christoph Jethon at PraxisClinic Jadore. This modern technique allows effortless use on many areas of the entire body; it is low-risk and also delivers long-term satisfactory results.
Dr. Christoph Jethon: Your experienced partner for liposuction at PraxisClinic Jadore
Dr. Christoph Jethon has many years of experience in successfully removing bothersome fat pads via liposuction. In all treatment concepts for reshaping the body contour, he consistently follows the following premises:
- individual care
- tailor-made treatment concepts
- low-risk technique
- minimal physical strain
- fast recovery
- long-lasting effect
Successfully remove small and large fat pads permanently
Small incision, big effect: Liposuction tackles unwanted deposits all over the body – wherever the harmony of the body contour suffers from unattractive proportions, Dr. Christoph Jethon helps restore an attractive, slim appearance with targeted liposuction. Especially in men, fat deposits on the chest can disturb the masculine appearance; here too liposuction is the appropriate method to remove them permanently.
No cuts, no scars – only a small puncture under the skin is sufficient for Dr. Jethon’s experienced hands to suction the underlying fat deposits through a microcannula until the respective body area regains a well-proportioned, attractive appearance.
Not to be forgotten are the pleasant side effects:
- The opening in the skin is barely visible after the treatment.
- Liposuction also significantly reduces the dreaded cellulite.
- Liposuction can be performed at almost any age. The best results are achieved when the skin still has sufficient elasticity.
- Reduced skin elasticity can be compensated by an additional skin tightening.
- Liposuction is not intended for weight loss; however, the removed fat pads remain permanently gone!
Liposuction from head to toe
Liposuction can be applied not only to the typical problem areas abdomen, upper arms and thighs. Even at many other sites, smaller fat pads lead to unsightly deformations that can also be reduced. The advantage: the fat tissue removed by liposuction does not regenerate at any of these sites. Dr. Christoph Jethon offers targeted liposuction for the whole body:
- Cheeks ("Buccal Fat Removal")
- Chin (double chin)
- Neck ("turkey neck")
- Chest – especially in men (gynecomastia)
- Abdomen ("spare tire")
- Waist ("muffin top")
- Hips ("love handles", "hip fat")
- Back (back fat)
- Thighs ("saddle bags")
- Knees
- Calves
- Ankle
Dr. Jethon performs smaller liposuctions on an outpatient basis so you can go home immediately afterwards.
Liposuction using the tumescent technique
For the effective and at the same time gentle removal of small as well as large fat pads, Dr. Christoph Jethon uses the safe tumescent technique. For this purpose, Dr. Jethon uses special tissue-friendly vibration cannulas that are introduced through a skin opening of only 5 mm. Through their own vibration they loosen the fat cells while preserving connective tissue strands, blood vessels and nerves. By guiding the cannula precisely, Dr. Jethon proceeds extremely accurately while simultaneously perfectly modeling the respective body area.
Anesthesia and possible risks of liposuction
The tumescent local anesthesia (TLA) used with this liposuction method not only numbs the treated body area locally, but also prepares the local fat cells for suctioning. For this purpose, Dr. Christoph Jethon injects the highly diluted anesthetic solution in larger quantities into the tissue. Tumescent local anesthesia offers the following advantages in liposuction:
- The patient is awake
- he can move his muscles and
- he can also get up
Because you can tense individual muscles and also get up with tumescent local anesthesia, Dr. Christoph Jethon can check and perfect the symmetry of individual body parts as well as the entire body silhouette at any time.
At the same time, the tumescent technique entails only a low risk of bleeding and hematomas occur less frequently. Dr. Christoph Jethon performs smaller procedures on an outpatient basis; for larger body areas, the procedure takes between 2 – 4 hours under twilight anesthesia, for which he recommends a 1-day clinic stay.

Before your planned liposuction at PraxisClinic Jadore, Dr. Christoph Jethon will conduct a detailed consultation with you. In this way he learns all your ideas precisely and explains how he will fulfill them and which procedures are necessary. Dr. Jethon will also inform you about the benefits of the tumescent technique he uses in liposuction as well as the costs involved. This gives you a clear picture of the ideal path to the dream figure you desire.
How you can prepare yourself for liposuction at PraxisClinic Jadore
You can also contribute to supporting the success of the liposuction. Already before the procedure you should consider the following guidelines:
Body weight and nutrition
The closer you are to your target weight on the day of the planned liposuction, the more long-lasting your newly modeled body silhouette will remain. If you therefore plan a diet as part of your treatment to lose weight, it is advantageous if this has already taken place before the procedure.
Medication intake
Already 2 weeks before your liposuction appointment you should stop all medications that increase the tendency to bleed. These include, for example, acetylsalicylic acid–containing products such as aspirin and sleeping pills. All medically prescribed and health-necessary preparations should of course continue to be taken and inform Dr. Jethon about them.
Tobacco and alcohol consumption
Regular tobacco use not only increases the risk of circulatory disorders, it also delays wound healing. Both can impair the healing process. Regular alcohol consumption has the same effect. Therefore, you should stop or at least reduce smoking or drinking alcohol no later than 2 weeks before the procedure.
Checklist for preparation:
- Plan a diet to lose weight before the procedure
- Avoid all blood-thinning medications
- Reduce or give up tobacco and alcohol consumption
How does liposuction proceed?
Before the actual procedure at PraxisClinic Jadore, Dr. Christoph Jethon marks the body region to be modeled on the skin. He then injects a tumescent solution into the local fat tissue, which on the one hand numbs the skin region and also prepares the fat cells for suction. Once the solution has distributed evenly in the fat tissue, Dr. Jethon inserts a special cannula through a small skin incision and begins the liposuction. The procedure lasts at least 1 hour and can usually be performed on an outpatient basis. If several or larger body areas are treated, the liposuction is performed under twilight anesthesia; for this, Dr. Christoph Jethon recommends a 1-day stay in one of the comfortable rooms.
Checklist for the operation:
- local anesthesia or twilight anesthesia
- duration of surgery: between 1 – 3 hours
- outpatient stay
- possibly also 1-day clinic stay
Postoperative care after liposuction
Immediately after completed liposuction you will receive a special compression garment; you should wear this depending on the extent of the procedure for a few days to several weeks. The compression garment supports the process of even retraction of the skin and tissue and is therefore part of the treatment of liposuction. After about a week you will be socially presentable again. You should avoid sports or strenuous activities for the following 6 weeks, as well as visits to a tanning bed or sauna.
In the first days after liposuction, muscle soreness-like pain may occur. These subside quickly and can be treated very well with painkillers that you receive from Dr. Christoph Jethon on prescription. After a few days you will usually be almost free of symptoms again. Any bruising that may occur will also disappear after a few days.
Checklist for postoperative care:
- Wear compression garments
- Avoid sports and physical exertion for 6 weeks
- no visit to a tanning bed or sauna
- socially presentable again after about a week
Supportive measures for liposuction
If larger body areas are treated during liposuction, e.g. on the abdomen or thighs, Dr. Christoph Jethon can support the retraction of the skin with a skin tightening – further information can be found here.
How much does liposuction cost?
As a rule, only approximate costs can be given for surgical procedures, since the price is determined individually according to the effort and duration of the procedure and also the necessary overnight stays in our PraxisClinic Jadore.
